Game development 2025

Many developers dream of becoming game developers. I never really had that dream, but recently I've been curious about how games are made.
So I'm going to give it a try — to learn things I can bring into other kinds of programming.
I've decided to build one game per month. That obviously means I'll only scratch the surface, but it should be fun and educational.
The three dominant game engines are Unreal, Unity, and Godot.
I'll start with something simpler to begin with: Phaser, a JavaScript framework that's easy to get started with but still covers many core game-dev principles.
